Kaleb McGary carted off field at Falcons practice

Up until today, the Falcons had remained relatively healthy throughout the preseason. But they may have just suffered a massive loss, as right tackle Kaleb McGary was carted off the field with an apparent leg injury.

This is a nightmare scenario for the Falcons so close to the start of the season. Kaleb McGary, who just signed a two-year extension with the team, is the most important player on the offensive line, responsible for protecting the blindside of Michael Penix Jr. Losing him for any amount of time is worrisome, and if it’s a season-ending ordeal, it could be a disaster.

Storm Norton has been the Falcons swing tackle over past couple of seasons. He would be first in line to start in McGary’s absence, but he’s also dealing with an injury. If this is something serious, the Falcons must take a look at options outside of the organization. Unfortunately, there are not many quality tackles available at this point in the offseason.
