Kansas City Chiefs Have Several Big Games in 2024
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs are the first team since the New England Patriots in the 2003 and 2004 seasons to win back-to-back Super Bowls. They will be looking to make NFL history and become the first three-peat champions.

No one is betting against the Chiefs from accomplishing that feat. If they were going to be knocked off, last season was about as good of a chance as teams would have. The supporting cast around Patrick Mahomes was shaky, yet the team still found a way to win without home-field advantage.

Heading into the 2024 season, the Chiefs are even better in some areas of the team. They added Marquise Brown in free agency and used a first-round pick on Xavier Worthy to bolster the wide receiver group. The contract situation looming with defensive tackle Chris Jones was also resolved.

As a result, football fans are going to be seeing the Kansas City Chiefs a lot during the 2024 season. Over at PFF, a list of 10 games that could define the season was compiled. Not surprisingly, the two-time defending champs are featured heavily.

An AFC Championship Game rematch against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 to kick off the season made the list. This time, the game will be played at Arrowhead, not M&T Bank. In Week 2, another AFC North nemesis is on deck.

The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to bounce back in 2024. After two straight AFCCG appearances against the Chiefs, they missed the playoffs last season. An early-season matchup against the defending champs is a great way to re-announce their presence as an AFC contender.

In Week 7, we get a Super Bowl LVIII rematch when Kansas City heads on the road to face the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco will be motivated for that game after losing in overtime in February.

In Weeks 15 and 16, the Kansas City Chiefs are playing against two fast-rising teams in the AFC; the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans. There isn’t a better measuring stick game for those teams than going up against the Chiefs.
