As usual, the Kansas City Chiefs are facing high expectations for the upcoming season.
That's the culture that they've built over the past several years, and wouldn't have it any other way. The Chiefs have had some legendary teams since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback in 2018, but the best one could be yet to come.
While joining Kay Adams of "Up & Adams" following Monday's training camp practice, Mahomes talked about how hard he and his teammates have been preparing for the season.
"It's been a lot of fun out here in St. Joe (Chiefs training camp home St. Joseph, MO)," Mahomes said. "It's competition. We've been getting after it, offense and defense. Special teams are doing a great job. I think guys are hungry, and that breeds excellence."
Adams then asked Mahomes if this year's Chiefs team is the best he's had so far throughout his career.
"I think we have a chance to be," Mahomes said. "I always think we have the talent to be the best team that we've ever had, but you got to go out there and prove it. Until we prove it, I'm not going to say we're the best. But, if we go out there and win that Super Bowl, then we can say we're the best one."

That's certainly a high bar, but having goals like that is part of why the Chiefs remain on time each and every year. K.C.'s roster is arguably as deep as it has been over the past few years, so it isn't crazy to believe that the 2025 Chiefs could be special if they can stay relatively healthy.
If we're gauging the best Chiefs teams by ones that won Super Bowls, my personal list would be. . .
I admittedly have a bit of recency bias, but that's what I'm going with. Any team better than those four would be a force to deal with, and could go down as one of the best in NFL history.
