As great as Patrick Mahomes has been during his seven career regular seasons, he's been even better in the postseason.
Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs to the playoffs every year since taking over as the starting quarterback in 2018. They have made it as far as the AFC Championship Game each time, with a 4-2 record in that round.
That is unprecedented success for any player in the history of the NFL. Mahomes and the Chiefs are preparing for another deep postseason run, starting with a matchup against the Houston Texans in the divisional round on Saturday. The X account of the NFL on CBS pointed out just how dominant Mahomes has been during the divisional round:

Those statistics would be nearly unfathomable for the regular season, nonetheless the playoffs against the best of the best. During those six divisional games, Mahomes has beaten the Indianapolis Colts, Texans, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Buffalo Bills twice.
He'll now look to beat Houston for the second time in the round. The Chiefs beat the Texans 27-19 back in Week 16. It was one of Mahomes' better performance of the season, throwing for 261 yards and one touchdown, also adding a 15-yard rushing touchdown.
Statically, Mahomes had the worst season of his career in 2024. His 3,938 passing yards was his lowest total ever, and he tied a low in passing touchdowns with 26. He had to deal with a lot of adversity as he lost his top two wide receivers at the beginning of the season and has had to deal with subpar play at left tackle.
Despite that, Mahomes still led Kansas City to a 15-2 record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC. He and the offense have been clicking as of late and are peaking at the right time. As a whole during Mahomes' postseason career he has thrown for 5,135 yards, 41 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a QB rating of 105.8.
