The Kansas City Chiefs are adding another notable quarterback to their roster.

The Kansas City Chiefs Seem To Be Unstoppable

After another season, and another Super Bowl win, the Kansas City Chiefs seem to be able to keep adding and adding to their already impressive team, on both sides of the football.

Boasting already one of the most impressive offensive lines in football, along with a perennially top 10 defensive engineered by general manager, Brett Veach, and defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, it seems like Kansas City quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, has everything except a bona fide number 1 receiver – at least since the departure of Tyreek Hill.

Even with the recent trading of stud cornerback, L’Jarius Sneed, the Chiefs still have an excellent, championship caliber roster. And now, it seems like they are hunting to solidify some of the backup positions with players who, at one point, had exceptionally high pedigree, per Jordan Schultz.

What Does Carson Wentz Bring To The Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are obviously not looking for a future replacement for All-World star, Patrick Mahomes. However, despite a strong defense and consistently good offensive line, the team’s success still hinges massively on Mahomes’ play and availability.

For some teams, like the San Francisco 49ers, lower ceiling type players, who are nonetheless impressive, like Brocky Purdy and Jimmy Garoppolo, “game manager +” types can be successful, having guided Kyle Shanahan’s side to 2 Super Bowl appearances in 5 years.

However, without elite receiving weapons and a less scheme-dependant offense, although no one can argue with head coach, Andy Reid’s clear genius, a low-ceiling, middle of the pack quarterback will tank the Chief’s season if Mahomes misses extended time.

Enter Carson Wentz, who whilst showing the capability to put on some absolutely horrific take, also had an MVP caliber year back in 2017, where the Nick Foles-guided Philadelphia Eagles eventually won Super Bowl LII.

So it makes sense that, in a stable franchise, with excellent coaching and smart play calling – with an established starter where the pressure will be firmly off of his shoulders, Wentz might be able to succeed and play a potentially pivotal role in Kansas City’s future successes, if the time and place calls for it – which the Chiefs are surely praying it does not.
