Every team has that one player that they always struggled against, or struggle against currently. For the Kansas City Chiefs, they have had their fair share as well. For the Las Vegas Raiders, they have always struggled with tight end Travis Kelce, as has the Los Angeles Chargers. He is what we call, the "Raiders killer" or the "Chargers killer."
And now, he is the best "Raiders killer" maybe ever, as his recent game put him near the top in a few different stats against the Raiders all-time. And, it makes sense when you think about it, as the Chiefs have beaten up on the Raiders quite a bit during the Mahomes era, and even before Mahomes was in town and Kelce was playing with Alex Smith.
Kelce had a decent day, with a few big plays. Here is what Josh Dubow of the Associated Press tweeted out during the game:
Travis Kelce now has the most career yards receiving vs #Raiders with 1,528, passing Tony Gonzalez (1,515). Kelce already has most catches vs Raiders (122) and needs 1 more TD catch to Antonio Gates for most with 13

On Friday, when the Chiefs somehow managed to once again miraculously walk away with a win over the Raiders, Kelce was finding his spots and getting open very efficiently. He started the season slowly, and I think a lot of that had to do with the Chiefs wanting to get some of the new guys going on offense like Xavier Worthy, and had to do with how defenses were playing them.
But now, he has been locked in, as has his counterpart Noah Gray, who had a pretty decent day as well. And Kelce has an opportunity next year to be first in all of those stats against the Raiders.
The Chiefs will now play the Los Angeles Chargers next, then the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans. The Chiefs will need Kelce for the rest of the season.
