The Chiefs lead the all-time series 17-16. The last meeting between these two teams was in the 2023 Wild Card Round. Kansas City won that game 26-7 en route to a second-straight Super Bowl victory.

The Chiefs have won five straight games against the Dolphins dating all the way back to 2014. Miami’s last victory over Kansas City was a 31-3 rout on November 6, 2011. Matt Cassel started at quarterback for the Chiefs in that game.

The first matchup between the two was on November 13, 1966, a 34-16 Chiefs win. Kansas City won the first six matchups in the series. Miami proceeded to win 16 of the next 22 before the Chiefs’ most recent five-game winning streak.

Patrick Mahomes has completed 63.8% of his passes in three games against Miami. He’s thrown for 840 yards and five touchdowns in those games. He’ll look to add to those numbers on Sunday.

The Chiefs have dominated recently, but this series has usually produced a lot of tight games. While Kansas City should be a favorite in Week 3, there are no guarantees when these two teams lock horns.
