Keenan Allen Reveals Plans if Bolts Trade Him
USA TODAY Sports

The 2023 NFL season has come to a close, and it was one your Los Angeles Chargers will bury deep down in Sofi Stadium.

The Chargers ended their season on a five-game losing streak and now have a lot to reflect on and a ton of work to come back in 2024 stronger than ever. There wasn't much to hang your hat on in 2023, but that doesn't apply to their Pro Bowl wide receiver, Keenan Allen. Allen had one heck of a season, putting up video game-like numbers before his season-ending heel injury.

It was all nice and dandy, but now reality has set in, and there are questions on whether Allen will be a Bolt come next season. The 31-year-old discussed his future with the team and whether he will be traded, per ESPN Chargers beat reporter Kris Rhim:

There were some rumors prior to the 2023 season that LA could trade Allen, and those rumors will only multiply this off-season. Keenan is in the middle of a four-year contract and won't be a free agent until 2025, his age-33 season.

The Chargers, who will bring in a new head coach and general manager, may want to go in a different direction. That's an educated guess, but don't be surprised if Allen is moved before the draft.

Keenan is a spectacular player, but how long can he sustain this play? He already suffers from injuries almost every season and isn't getting any younger. It may be time to move on and get some draft capital for the six-time Pro Bowler.

It's not what fans or the organization may want, but it may be time to move on for the better. Age and contract are not in Allen's favor.

I don't want it to happen but don't be surprised, Charger fans.
