Kelce Brother Facing Criticism After Shocking Absence

The Kelce family has become one of the most popular around the professional sports landscape. Both brothers have contributed to that continuously evolving celebrity of the family.

Travis may have the most notoriety outside the sports world given his romance with pop music megastar Taylor Swift. Since the two have been together, the NFL audience has expanded in a significant way.

That star power combined with the dominance of the Kansas City Chiefs in recent seasons makes that even more notable.

Moving to his brother Jason, the former NFL center has turned into one a fan-favorite personality since taking on a role at ESPN. Kelce appears regularly on Monday Night Countdown and hosts a late-night program "They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce."

The two also co-host the "New Heights" podcast together. Strangely, despite the enhancing celebrity image, retirement has become key subject as it pertains to the Kelce's.

Jason retired in 2024 after 14 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and Travis was rumored to be retiring after the 2024 season. However, he has since decided to run it back one more time with Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs Kingdom.

But the subject of retirement has Jason under some scrutiny this week. His long time teammate with the Eagles, Brandon Graham, has retired from the NFL after 15 seasons.

When the team held his retirement press conference, Kelce was not present to support. That absence had him under scrutiny from Eagles fans, namely because of how high Jason has spoken of Graham.

"B.G. is on the Mount Rushmore of Philadelphia Eagles," Kelce said on his New Heights podcast. "I don't know that anybody represents the Eagles better than Brandon Graham."

Graham gets to end his career at the top after his Eagles trounced the Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX.

With his fourth baby on the way soon along with all his other responsibilities, perhaps the timing caught him at a rough point in his schedule. While fans and critics may be quick to assume, Jason likely has a reason for missing out.
