The Philadelphia Eagles will officially have some big shoes to fill this offseason.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Kellen Moore is expected to become the New Orleans Saints head coach, "barring any unexpected developments."

Moore interviewed twice with the Saints but after the Eagles advanced to the Super Bowl, he had to go no-contact with the organization.

"The Saints, with their history of being in the NFL's crosshairs, don't want to bend or break any rules and therefore will wait until after Super Bowl LIX on Sunday before working to try to finalize any agreement with Moore, according to sources," Schefter writes. "The sides are not expected to have any challenges to get a deal done, sources said."

Moore, 36, will become the NFL's youngest head coach, and it's well-deserved.

After the Eagles dropped their 2023 season, Moore helped turn things around and is one of the main reasons why the Birds finished with a 14-3 record and ultimately advanced to Super Bowl LIX. In Moore's first season calling plays for the Eagles, the offense finished the year ranked No. 8 in total yards, No. 7 in points scored, and No. 2 in rushing yards.

Moore Kicked Off His Coaching Career in 2018

Moore's coaching career initially kicked off in 2018 after he was named the Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks coach. He was quickly promoted to offensive coordinator in 2019 where he held the position for four years.

In four seasons under Moore, Dallas ranked second in total offense (391.0 net YPG) and scoring (27.7 PPG). Moore's offense was also the league's fourth-best passing offense (264.4 net YPG) and ranked seventh in rushing offense (126.6 YPG).

Additionally, Moore helped Dallas win two NFC East titles and helped them secure three post-season berths.

After parting ways with the Cowboys, Moore joined the Los Angeles Chargers coaching staff ahead of the 2023 season. With Moore in charge, LA's offensive unit ranked 18th in total offense, 13th in passing, 25th in rushing, and 21st in scoring.

Before entering the coaching realm, Moore was a backup quarterback for the Detroit Lions and Cowboys.
