Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III offered an explanation as to why he snubbed his former teammates following Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Walker left the field without shaking hands following the Seahawks’ 20-3 at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash. This was despite the fact that many of the Seahawks are Walker’s former teammates.

After the game, Walker clarified that the gesture was one of frustration, not disrespect.

“S—, we lost,” Walker said, via Nate Taylor of ESPN. “I was frustrated. That’s about it. I [saw] them over there celebrating and s—. That’s about it.”

The frustration was understandable. Walker had been dominant for the Chiefs through the first five games of the season with a league-high 665 rushing yards, but was held to just 36 yards on 14 attempts on Sunday by his former team. The ugly nature of the loss, plus the somewhat personal nature of it, got the better of him.

Presumably, Walker’s reaction will bring back some of the speculation that he and the Seahawks did not part ways on the best of terms during his offseason departure.
