Micah Parsons is in the midst of a Defensive Player of the Year caliber season, and could be in the MVP conversation following his key plays in the biggest moments of the Packers‘ win over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.
Parsons posted 2.5 sacks against the Lions, with two pivotal fourth quarter sacks that helped put the game on ice for Green Bay, raising his season total to 12.5, just 1.5 shy of tying his career-high.
Meanwhile, Thursday’s victory was also Parsons’ third multi-sack performance of the season.
ESPN’s Matt Bowen put together a list of the 109 players with the best key traits across the league, including revealing what has pushed Parsons to level up his game to an even more dominant level in 2025.
“Parsons can close on quarterbacks in a hurry,” Bowen writes for ESPN, listing Parsons as the player with the best closing speed in the NFL. “Using his elite burst to disrupt the pocket. He has been a difference-maker in Green Bay, racking up 12.5 sacks and a league-best 53 pressures.”
In the midst of one of his most dominant seasons, Parsons has become a potential difference-maker as the Packers look to make a run at the NFC North championship and a potential No. 1 seed with homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.
Parsons’ speed has become a critical asset for defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, and his impact has trickled down across the rest of the defense all season long.
