Kirk Herbstreit Releases Very Bold Super Bowl 61 Prediction

Kirk Herbstreit's Super Bowl 61 prediction appears to be in.

The longtime ESPN college football announcer also covers the National Football League for Amazon Prime. Herbstreit will once again team up with Al Michaels of Amazon Prime for "Thursday Night Football" this fall.

Herbstreit is known for his college football predictions, but he's made a bold NFL one heading into the 2026 season.

The Amazon Prime NFL announcer is taking the Chiefs over the field heading into the 2026 regular season.

Herbstreit stated on X: "I’d take em vs the field."

The longtime Amazon Prime announcer is quite high on the Chiefs, despite the AFC contenders missing the playoffs last season, and Patrick Mahomes coming off a torn ACL injury late in the season.

Herbstreit isn't the only one high on the Chiefs, either. His ESPN colleague, Pat McAfee, is high on them as well.

The ESPN announcer is very high on the Chiefs, too.

McAfee was responding to the following tweet: "First 7-on-7 .. Mahomes a perfect 5 of 5 .. finished off by a deep route caught by Omari Evans. Cyrus Allen with a couple catches as well."

The Chiefs are certainly being overlooked by some, but they're also a team that is coming off a disappointing season, with some older players, and Mahomes is recovering from an injury.

Time will tell if Herbstreit, McAfee and Co. are right, though.
