Kliff Kingsbury is officially on the market.
Kingsbury and the Washington Commanders mutually agreed to part ways on Tuesday, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Kingsbury wants to pursue other opportunities, and left despite the strong endorsement of quarterback Jayden Daniels.

NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reported, perhaps not coincidentally, that Kingsbury is likely to interview for the New York Giants’ and Tennessee Titans’ head coaching jobs.

Kingsbury’s stock was incredibly high a year ago after he was credited with helping Daniels win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2024. There were even rumors that he turned down a head coaching opportunity to keep working in Washington. The unit severely regressed in 2025, though a large part of that was down to Daniels missing much of the season due to injury.
Even if Kingsbury fails to land a head coaching job, he should have no problem catching on somewhere else as an offensive coordinator. His work with Daniels has been rightly praised, and he has head coaching experience with the Arizona Cardinals.
