Klint Kubiak confirms he's heading to Vegas after Super Bowl win

The Seattle Seahawks showed that they were the best team on Sunday night, defeating the New England Patriots 29-13 to become Super Bowl Champions.

Known for their strong defense under head coach Mike McDonald (sixth, 285.9 yards per game), the Seahawks offense under offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak proved just as dominant (seventh, 351.4 yards per game). En route to their Super Bowl victory, the Seahawks outscored their opponents 101-46.

Kubiak's strong offensive mind made him one of the top head-coaching candidates for next season. After the Seahawks' victory, Kubiak confirmed he was going to Las Vegas to coach the Raiders.

"You guys know I'm going to Las Vegas, so I'm fired up about it," Kubiak said following Seattle's 29-13 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday, via Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

“Hell yeah, of course I'm going," he responded to a follow-up question confirming he would be the next Raiders coach.

Klint Kubiak seems like the right man to turn the Raiders around and potentially develop Fernando Mendoza

The Raiders were the worst offense in the NFL last season (245.2 yards per game), and had terrible quarterback play from Geno Smith, who led the league in interceptions (17) and sacks (55). Kubiak will try to turn the Raiders' offense around, and he’ll likely try to do that with Fernando Mendoza, as they hold the first pick in the NFL Draft.

Mendoza is the top NFL Draft prospect after winning the Heisman Trophy (3,535 yards, 41 touchdowns) and the National Championship. Needing a new quarterback to build around, drafting Mendoza would be in the Raiders' best interest.

Kubiak appears to be the right man to turn things around and help develop Mendoza into a decent NFL quarterback, as he did with Sam Darnold.
