The NFL offseason barely gives anyone time to catch their breath. Even before the confetti fully settled on Super Bowl LX, teams were already moving pieces around, trying to get a head start on next season. Coaching changes always come fast, but sometimes they happen so quickly that they feel almost planned in advance.

That’s been the case for Klint Kubiak, who went from coordinating an offense in Seattle to stepping into one of the league’s most scrutinized jobs with the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, as the new head coach begins shaping the team in his image, the focus has shifted to building the right support system around him and one of his first big decisions involves bringing in a veteran voice with plenty of NFL experience to help guide the next chapter in Vegas.

According to Matt Zenitz, “The #Raiders are expected to hire South Carolina’s Joe DeCamillis as special teams coordinator, sources tell @CBSSports. Before South Carolina and working at Texas in 2023, DeCamillis was a special teams coach in the NFL for 31 years”

The Las Vegas Raiders look set to add serious experience to their coaching staff, with longtime special teams coach Joe DeCamillis expected to make the jump from college football back to the NFL. After two years at University of South Carolina, where his units produced standout specialists and strong rankings, DeCamillis appears ready for another pro challenge.

This isn’t a rookie hire far from it. DeCamillis has spent decades around the league, working with multiple franchises and collecting Super Bowl rings along the way with the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams. His reputation has long been built on disciplined, dependable special teams play.

For new Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak, bringing in someone with that level of experience makes sense as he builds out his staff. The two previously crossed paths in Denver, which likely helped make this move an easy call as the Raiders try to lay a stronger foundation for the future.
