Kolton Miller makes sure to get his point across about his contract situation while at mandatory minicamp

The Las Vegas Raiders' new regime has done a fantastic job of not letting any drama or leaks, or anything of that nature, out of the building. And, there is proof of that with Kolton Miller, one of the four last remaining Raiders players who played in Oakland.

There was a tiny bit of drama this offseason when the new regime got in place, but it didn't last that long, as they quickly made Maxx Crosby the highest-paid non-quarterback in the entire league. Of course, that also didn't last long because days afterward, the Cleveland Browns rewarded Myles Garrett with a big-time contract.

Then there was a bit of drama with Kolton Miller, the left tackle, as he is in the last year of his deal. It's not really drama, though. He just let everyone know he wants a new deal, as he should, because if not, he will test free agency next offseason, and there is a chance someone will be willing to pay that guy a ton of money.

But it's not really drama, because usually when guys are in this position, they don't show up to any offseason activities. Miller has been at OTAs and now mandatory minicamp.

"I've been here for a long time, man," Miller told reporters when asked why he was at OTAs and mandatory minicamp and not sitting out. "This is what I do. I'm looking to just improve each day, and the direction the organization is going with Pete [Carroll], he's preaching competition, making everyone better, including the young guys.

"So I'm going to continue to do what I'm doing, lead the guys, and that's how I'm rolling... I want to be a Raider for life. I love it here, and I don't want to go anywhere else. And, I only know one way to do it, and that's showing up and getting better each day."

Miller didn't have his best season last year, as he had 40 blown blocks per Sports Info Solutions, but that's also because he didn't have an offseason, and he was injured. The Raiders still believe in him, so don't get that twisted. They only drafted a tackle and another guy who has played the position because they need depth, and if the contract talks don't work out, they have a backup plan.

As far as Miller, he's making it known he wants to be a Raider for life. And, I think that's pretty evident by the fact that he is there when his agent has probably had discussions with him about not showing up. For OTAs, he didn't have to be there; he wasn't going to be fined. But he showed up.

This is Miller letting everyone know that, in a way, he is committed to the Raiders until he's not on the team anymore.
