NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" has reached prominence in its almost-nine-year run through the likable partnership of co-hosts Kyle Brandt and Peter Schrager.
Schrager, who became a staple on the show for his accurate Super Bowl predictions, officially announced he was leaving the show for ESPN on Monday.
His announcement followed reports that he had been in talks with ESPN. Although no official deal has been signed yet, The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported that he would assume a major role across ESPN's daily football coverage.
"Schrager has no signed contract yet with ESPN. If the deal is finalized, Schrager is expected to be on the network’s daily shows, including “NFL Live,” “Get Up,” “First Take” and other studio programming," Marchand writes. "ESPN is gearing up for its initial Super Bowl in February 2027. Schrager would likely have a role in draft coverage."
During Schrager's final segment of "Good Morning Football" on Monday, Brandt launched into a lengthy and emotionally driven goodbye message of his co-host.
“In July of 2016, when we found out that this show was gonna happen, I was gonna be part of it, I got a direct message from Peter Schrager and he said, ‘dude, this is so cool we’re gonna be best buds,'” Brandt said. “And he was right and we have been and we are.

“I’m a miserable bastard. I don’t like making friends. At home, I have my wife and my kids. Around the town, I got a few friends. Around the country, I have my high school friends. When I come to work, I have Peter. And Peter, you said we were going to be best buds and we always have been. Thank you very much for eight and a half years for being my best bud.”
“Right on,” Schrager responded. “I love you, Kyle.”
“I love you too,” Brandt replied.
