Pitts is going into year five of his career, and so far, he has yet to live up to the expectations of a fourth overall pick, especially when he is the highest drafted player in his position's history. In four seasons, Pitts has a total of 10 touchdowns and has only had a single 1,000-yard season.
The Falcons had plans to trade him during the off season but seem to be at a place where they will keep him for 2025. Now Pitts has more to prove than he could possibly imagine.
PFF has Pitts as one of the players that has the most to prove and there is a ton of pressure for him to fit into this offense. He has had his fair share of struggle in pass-catching and looks to clean that up this season.
After months of rumors, it seems that Pitts will stick around for a fifth season on the Falcons. There have been some factors like quarterback play and play calling in his early seasons that could have impacted his production, but in 2024 both Drake London and Darnell Mooney had outstanding seasons with the Falcons while Pitts took a step back.
Pitts needs to prove that he can fit into the Falcons scheme, which will now have as much passing as it does run, with Michael Penix Jr. taking over. Penix and Pitts will look to build some chemistry as they both look to have breakout seasons.
Pitts will have to continue to improve and become a factor in this offense for him to succeed in 2025.
