Kyle Williams was drafted in the third round (69th overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. The Patriots’ wide receivers struggled mightily last season, so Williams becomes the guy they needed to build around Drake Maye. Is he the future WR1 for the Patriots, and what is Kyle Williams’ dynasty outlook?
Williams spent five years in college, spending his first three at UNLV before transferring to Washington State to finish his final two seasons. He had a solid first four seasons, producing between 400 and 850 receiving yards each year before having a breakout year in 2024. He had 70 receptions for 1,198 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns. Williams is great in short routes and has a varied route tree.

According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, Williams is currently the WR58. He was outside the top 100 wide receivers before the NFL Draft, before skyrocketing into the top 60 after the Draft. He is ranked behind Jalen McMillan , Calvin Ridley, and Cooper Kupp, while ahead of Stefon Diggs, Rashid Shaheed, and Darnell Mooney. Interestingly, the two Patriots wide receivers are ranked right next to one another. Williams is being drafted in the early third round of dynasty rookie drafts and is ranked around the 10th-best rookie receiver.
The Patriots’ wide receiver room was a mess last season. Tight end Hunter Henry led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. DeMario Douglas led the wide receivers with just 66 receptions and 621 yards. No pass catcher caught more than three touchdown passes. Rookie quarterback Drake Maye did not have a number one go-to guy whom he could trust. Other wide receivers on the team are Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, Ja’Lynn Polk, and Javon Baker. None of these players is a serious threat.
The Patriots went out and revamped their wide receiver room. First, they signed 32-year-old Stefon Diggs to a three-year, $66.5 million contract. Diggs is coming off an ACL injury, so his production might be limited. The Pats also signed Mack Hollins, who had limited production in his time with the Bills.
This room is wide open for Williams to be at least the WR2 for Maye. Diggs should slot in as the WR1 if he is healthy, being the veteran presence for the young quarterback. However, Williams will eventually pass him once Diggs continues to age or if he can not rebound from his injury. Williams has a very encouraging dynasty outlook as he looks to build a strong connection with Maye for many years to come.

Yes, Williams is a great selection in the third round in dynasty leagues. Expect his ADP to continue to rise throughout the summer as more hype is built around him. The Patriots need help in the wide receiver room, and Williams and Diggs are those guys. Being ten years younger, Williams is the future WR1 for the Patriots and is tied to a good young quarterback. Williams should see plenty of fantasy success during his NFL career.
