Kyler Murray Gets Honest About Likely Change In 2025

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was fully healthy for the 2024 season after recovering from an ACL injury that he suffered during the 2022 season.

He missed the first half of the 2023 season before returning for the second half and played the entire 2024 season for the Cardinals, finishing with 3,851 yards through the air, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

He showed that he still had a lot left in the tank as a quarterback and is excited about the 2025 season. He wants to be a bit more mobile and run more when next season starts.

“I don’t want to get too scheme-based, but I do feel like I have to run more next year. I’m open to running more next year, just because it’s such a weapon, you know, it’s such a weapon," Murray told PHNX Sports, (first transcribed by ProFootballTalk).

Murray finished last season with 572 yards and five touchdowns off 78 carries. His career-high in rushing for a season came in 2020 when he compiled 133 carries for 819 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He wants to get back to that level for the 2025 season and help the Cardinals get back to the playoffs. They have missed the playoffs in each of the last three seasons and eight of the last nine seasons.

Their lone playoff berth during that time was in 2021 when they won 11 games but lost in the wild-card round. They finished the 2024 season with an 8-9 record.

It was Jonathan Gannon's second season as head coach after he was hired ahead of the 2023 season.
