Kyler Murray not worried about Cardinals offense heading into Giants game

Cardinals second-year quarterback Kyler Murray entered Most Valuable Player candidate discussions following an overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 25 that improved Arizona to 5-2 ahead of the bye week.

Those days may seem from long ago for fans, however, as the Cardinals dropped four of their past five to fall to 6-6 overall and third place in the NFC West standings. Despite that poor run of form and the fact that Murray is likely no longer even an MVP afterthought, the signal-caller believes his offense is close to righting the ship.

"A lot of these games, we're right there. It's just a couple things don't go our way or we put pressure on ourselves," Murray explained when speaking with reporters on Wednesday amid preparations for a showdown with the first-place New York Giants, per Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.

"We make it harder than it has to be. If we just simplify these games, it's pretty simple in itself, but at the same time it's hard to execute at this level. But I'm not worried about the pressure or anything like that."

The Giants are only 5-7 but have won their last four outings, including a 17-12 victory at the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson was largely a non-factor throughout that game until the fourth quarter, and Big Blue will look to force Murray into making mistakes often committed by a 23-year-old QB still in his second full season.

Per Matt Citak of the Giants' official website, New York's defense has surrendered an average of 18.9 points over the last seven games.
