It's been a busy offseason for the Arizona Cardinals, who've made some big free agent signings, including EDGE Josh Sweat (four years, $76.4 million) and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson (two years, $29 million).
Along with bringing in some fresh faces, general manager Monti Ossenfort has made sure to keep their current stars happy and on Thursday signed tight end Trey McBride to a four-year, $76 million contract.
Not only does it keep him with the Cardinals through the 2029 season, but it also makes him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history on both total value, and yearly average ($19 million).
Quickly after the deal was announced, quarterback Kyler Murray took to social media to react to the news, posting "Maaaaan! So happy for my dawg, worth every penny! More work to be done but a great day."

In his first three seasons with the Cardinals, McBride has become an extremely reliable target for Murray, being named to one Pro Bowl while accumulating 221 receptions, 2,236 yards and six touchdowns.
His 111 receptions, 1,146 yards and 147 targets in 2024 ranked second among NFL tight ends, all behind rookie Brock Bowers of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Of course, it's no surprise to know that Murray is excited about the news, as it now guarantees he will have McBride as a receiving threat until his five-year $230.5 million contract expires at the end of the 2027 season.
