Kyren Williams accomplished a feat not seen by the Rams since 2018

Kyren Williams achieved something Thursday night that hasn't been done for the Los Angeles Rams since 2018.

After his impactful 104 rushing-yard performance against the New Orleans Saints, Williams became the first 1,000-plus yard rusher for the Rams since Todd Gurley in 2018.

Adding to the feat: Williams achieved the century mark while only playing in 11 games thus far.

Williams' star season seemingly came out of nowhere. But he went from a little-thought option to a key contributor. He is now receiving the payoff from it.

With a handful of weeks left in the season, Williams could come close to Gurley's rushing yard total of 1,251.

Through Week 16, Williams sits 13th in the league with 208 carries, fourth in the league in yards (1,057), ninth in rushing touchdowns (9), and he is averaging 5.1 yards per carry.

He's been a duel threat of the sorts in the Rams' offense, catching passes out of the backfield. He has 30 catches and three touchdowns.

Sean McVay has the Rams' offense humming. With Matthew Stafford playing some of his best football ever and the Rams controlling much of their playoff destiny, having a 1,000-yard rusher is merely the cherry on top.

Williams is one of the best running backs in the league. The last time the Rams had an elite running back, they were one of the most lethal offensive teams in the league. It looks like Williams is giving that wrinkle back to McVay and company.
