LA OT Tries To Downplay Terrible Showing In Patriots Win

Your Los Angeles Chargers slugged their way to a much-needed victory this past weekend, taking down the New England Patriots by a score of 6-0. It was an ugly game all around, and both teams could barely move the ball on offense with rain pouring down.

LA improved their record to 5-7 on the season, but they shouldn’t feel good about this win. New England is a very poor football team this season, and they almost pulled the upset.

Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater tried to downplay the poor result by saying that nobody is going to remember the score, just the fact that the Bolts won the game.

“In two weeks, no one’s going to remember the score,” Chargers left tackle Rashawn Slater said. “It’s just a ‘W’ in the column. We’ll learn from it, fix the mistakes, and move on.”

While Slater is somewhat correct, it still doesn’t make up for the terrible effort put out by LA in the game. They went head-to-head with one of the worst teams in the entire league and scored just six points. LA couldn’t even score a touchdown against an awful defense.

Luckily for them, their defense and special teams units showed up, otherwise, it could have been a truly awful day for the organization. The Chargers may have gotten the win, but winning a game like this does mean something.

They can blame the rain coming down, or whatever they want, but at the end of the day, they put on a bad showing. The win did keep their slim playoff hopes alive, and if they can somehow turn the season around, maybe we look back on this win. But the chances remain very low.

The Chargers don’t have time to celebrate the victory, as they have to get ready for their matchup with the Denver Broncos this weekend. Both teams come in needing a win badly, so it should be an exciting matchup between the two sides at Sofi Stadium.
