Lamar Jackson has awesome response to being called the 'GOAT'
Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Lamar Jackson has morphed into a full-blown superstar this year, and his latest dominant performance made him a virtual lock to win the NFL MVP Award. While he has clearly been the best player in the league this year, he doesn’t want people calling him the best of all time.

At least not yet.

On Friday morning, Jackson had a great response to a tweet in which pro boxer Gervonta Davis called him “the goat.” The Baltimore Ravens quarterback said it is too early for that talk.

Jackson completed 15-of-23 passes for 212 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in Thursday night’s 42-21 win over the New York Jets. He added another 86 yards rushing on eight attempts and broke Michael Vick’s record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single season. Jackson now has 33 touchdown passes and six interceptions on the year to go with his 1,103 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground.

In addition to being the most electrifying player in the NFL, Jackson is also a great leader who seems extremely humble. One of the awesome moments he had on the sideline with John Harbaugh earlier in the season helped illustrate that, and so does his refusal to let people call him the “GOAT” already. He has all the qualities of a franchise quarterback.
