Lamar Jackson Lashes Out at Mark Andrew Haters in Spirited Defense of TE

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are back to square one after another failed bid to win the Super Bowl in the 2024 NFL season. They struck out early again from the postseason last campaign, when Baltimore got eliminated by the Buffalo Bills in a divisional round loss back in January. That game was also bitterly memorable for Ravens fans, not just because of the loss but for the crucial misplays by star tight end Mark Andrews.

The veteran tight end has since received countless criticisms about his gaffes, as though those were enough to define his otherwise incredible career in the NFL. Jackson is not having any of the negative noise surrounding his downfield weapon, as he spoke on Tuesday in defense of his teammate.

“I’ve been seeing my guy be getting talked about and I really don’t like that because he’s done so much for us,” Jackson said of Andrews (h/t Bobby Kownack of NFL.com). “He’s done so much for us, and how people did him, I just don’t like that. ‘Cause Mark is still Mark, for sure, no doubt.”

Added Jackson: “He’s accomplished so much for us and himself. I feel like, just let things happen sometimes. We wish we would’ve won the game. I wish I didn’t throw that interception. I wish I didn’t fumble. I wish the mishap didn’t happen, but it happened. It’s a lesson learned, man, so next time, we’ll do something better.”
