Lamar Jackson News Emerges on Tuesday

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are heading into a highly anticipated rivalry showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday. It’s going to be a Thanksgiving matchup for these two AFC North sides, and all eyes will potentially be on Jackson as he looks to lead Baltimore to its sixth consecutive victory.

Jackson, however, sustained a toe injury in Sunday’s 23-16 win over Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns. This issue forced the two-time AP MVP to miss practice on Monday, which added a cloud of doubt over his status for the Bengals game.

The Ravens provided a crucial update on Jackson’s injury on Tuesday.

In Sunday’s hard-fought victory against Cleveland, Jackson registered 13-of-23 completed passes for 153 yards. He also rushed seven times for 11 yards. It was not an MVP-caliber performance from the three-time All-Pro quarterback, but it was enough to lead the Ravens to their sixth win of the season.

Jackson did not come out of the game unscathed, though. He is now nursing a toe injury, which forced him to sit out Monday’s practice. However, after being a non-participant on Monday, Jackson was able to practice in full on Tuesday. The Ravens announced the news via social media.

This development suggests that Jackson will be available for Thursday’s rivalry showdown. Baltimore will need its cornerstone quarterback on the field as it looks to take down the 3-8 Bengals, who are expected to welcome Joe Burrow back after a 10-game absence due to a toe injury.

After starting the season at 1-5, the Ravens are now 6-5 after winning their last five games. Jackson and Co. are trending in the right direction in terms of securing their spot in the NFL playoffs, but nothing is guaranteed at this point. A win against the Bengals will go a long way for them.

Baltimore will host Thursday’s Thanksgiving showdown, with kickoff from M&T Bank Stadium scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET.
