The Baltimore Ravens and superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson have had a lot of success together. While Jackson is in the second year of a five-year, $260 million contract, there have been rumblings about the team looking to extend him again.

Recent, head coach John Harbaugh spoke out about Jackson's contract and revealed that the team has been working on getting something done with its franchise quarterback.

"There has been conversations about that internally, I know," Harbaugh said. "How far along that is or whatever, I don't know, but I definitely think it's an obvious point that you're making. That's going to continue to have to be addressed, really with all those guys. You just have to kind of manage that dance – the salary cap dance – and Lamar is the main part of that, because he's the franchise player. That's a possibility. Sooner or later, that's definitely going to have to happen."

While the Ravens have already started considering another extension for Jackson, the quarterback spoke out with a cryptic social media message over the weekend.

"Once I show my love they show me why they don't deserve it, right then soon as I put my guard down that's when they hurt me," he wrote.

Notably, the picture included by Jackson involves the team. Whether he's directing his message at Baltimore or not remains to be seen.

Last season with the Ravens, Jackson put together an MVP-style performance. He completed 66.7% of his pass attempts for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, and four interceptions, while also rushing for 915 yards and four touchdowns.

It's certainly not time to panic for Baltimore. Jackson is still locked in for years to come. A new deal seems to already be in the works as well.

At 28 years old, the upcoming season is an important one. The Ravens have had teams that looked like Super Bowl contenders but came up short. Baltimore needs to put everything together and make a deeper run in the playoffs.

While it's not time to panic, this situation is worth keeping an eye on.
