Lamar Jackson Strongly Denies Accusation About Ravens

Lamar Jackson remained on the bench for the Baltimore Ravens’ 41-24 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 17. The former NFL MVP was forced to sit out due to a back injury, which saw backup Tyler Huntley take over as Baltimore’s QB1 against the Packers.

Jackson, however, has been making significant progress as the Ravens prepare for their season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Baltimore will need to defeat Pittsburgh to secure a playoff berth and, in the process, with the AFC North division title.

Jackson is adamant that he will be ready for the Ravens’ most important game of the season thus far.

Jackson logged his second consecutive full practice on Thursday, which bodes well for his chances to suit up against the Steelers on Sunday. The three-time All-Pro quarterback has already declared his availability for the game, saying that he will “a hundred percent” be out there against Pittsburgh.

During his press interview on Thursday, Jackson also addressed the accusation about his unwillingness to play through the pain after missing Week 17 against the Packers. Jackson was quick to shut down the rumor, claiming that he was “really hurt.”

"I never quit on my team," Jackson said, via Jamison Henley of ESPN. "I don't know where that noise came from."

He was then asked about an article from the Baltimore Sun that alleged that he had, among other things, fallen asleep during team meetings. Jackson strongly denied the accusation.

"Do you think Harbaugh would let me fall asleep in meetings?" Jackson responded. "That's crazy. I'm right in the front. It's just noise."

The Baltimore Sun also insinuated a disconnect between Jackson and the Ravens, stemming from issues such as diet, conditioning and the 28-year-old's unhealthy video game habits.

A loss for Jackson and the Ravens on Sunday will result in their missing the playoffs for the first time since 2021. However, victory will see them lift the AFC North division title for the third consecutive season. They will also end Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers’ postseason hopes by doing so.
