Lamar Jackson trolls Tiki Barber by saying Geno Stone is ‘dead to him’

NFL free agency has been a whirlwind of news, seeing some of the NFL’s top stars make their decisions on where their next home will be. That includes Saquon Barkley , who has reportedly reached an agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Barkley was greeted with backlash from the Giants fanbase, as the Eagles are their bitter rival. Even former New York running back Tiki Barber was blunt in his reaction saying that Barkley was “dead to us.”

Lamar Jackson , who secured his bag last offseason to remain with the Baltimore Ravens for multiple years, had a bit of fun with Barber’s quote. Now former teammate Geno Stone has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals — also a division rival of the Ravens. He went full troll on this one.

Let’s hope Ravens fans play a bit nicer with Stone’s signing, as Jackson is cracking a joke toward his former teammate. There seems to be no bad blood there. However, Jackson won’t hold back when trying to score against his old teammate.

While the comment was all in good fun, losing Stone is tough for the Ravens as he became a budding star in Baltimore after previously being seen as a role player. He was thrust into a starting role during the season after safeties Marcus Williams and Kyle Hamilton fell ill to the injury bug.

Stone finished the 2023-24 NFL season ranking second in the NFL in interceptions with seven. He has now signed a two-year, $15 million deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. His deal includes a $6 million signing bonus.

He was a seventh-round pick in 2020 by the Ravens but was waived by the team throughout his rookie season. Stone was a special teams guy for the two seasons before his breakout 2023 campaign.

During his four-season stay in Baltimore, the 25-year-old defensive back has tallied 127 total tackles, eight interceptions and one forced fumble.

For Jackson, he will stay in Baltimore for the foreseeable future after signing his five-year contract worth $260 million in April of 2023. He’s coming off an NFL MVP campaign, as is still searching for his first Super Bowl appearance since turning pro.

During the 2023-24 campaign, Jackson tallied a career-high 3,678 passing yards and 24 touchdowns while only throwing seven interceptions. Jackson completed 307-of-his-457 (67.2%) pass attempts this season, as well. He also exploded for 821 yards and five scores in the ground game and will look to improve on those numbers this fall.
