Lamar Jackson was waived due to injury on Monday.
No, not the Baltimore Ravens quarterback but instead the Carolina Panthers cornerback.
The somewhat confusing transaction was announced by Carolina in a team statement along with four others.
Jackson, a third-year veteran out of the University of Nebraska, was reportedly competing for a spot on Carolina's secondary according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Jackson picked up his injury during Saturday's preseason game against the New York Jets but head coach Dave Canales did not provide an update to reporters on his status Sunday.
Monday's roster news now provides clarity on the 26-year-old's unfortunate situation.
Jackson went undrafted in 2020 but signed with the New York Jets before being waived later that year.
He spent time with the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos during the 2022 season before spending an offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs prior to landing in Carolina.
