With the sudden retirement of Lane Johnson and the trading away of Cam Jurgens, the Philadelphia Eagles offensive line faces unprecedented uncertainty. Many wonder if Landon Dickerson could be the latest Pro Bowl anchor to be potentially moved as the Eagles enter a retooling phase. When asked if he believes that he is still in the plans as the future starting left guard for the organization, Dickerson passed the buck to the front office.
“That’s a great question,” Dickerson said. “Do they have a media day for Nick [Sirianni] and Howie [Roseman]? You can ask them that.”
Dickerson continued: “I’d very much enjoy staying here my whole career, but again, it’s not necessarily up to me.”
The Eagles selected Dickerson in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft, and he has been a staple of what had consistently been an elite offensive line. He has appeared in 78 regular season games (77 starts) since being drafted and has been named to three Pro Bowls (2022, 2023, 2024).
Dickerson played a major role during the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning run in 2024, with Saquon Barkley rushing for over 2,000 yards behind him and the talented offensive line.
Due to the physical toll and punishment put on Dickerson’s body, Dickerson suffered a left knee injury in the NFC Championship Game, which he played through in the Super Bowl. The injury required surgery in the offseason, and bluntly, he has not been the same player since. 2025 was arguably the worst of his career, struggling in both the pass and run game, earning his career-low PFF grade.
Those struggles, whether tied to lingering injuries or an outright decline, continued in the 2026 season opener. Dickerson was graded 136th out of 138 qualifying offensive linemen by PFF before being placed on IR immediately following the game.
In his absence, Cam Jurgens filled in at left guard for three weeks prior to his trade to the Baltimore Ravens, handing the starting nod to Willie Lampkin. While Lampkin was solid in his debut, Dickerson’s return from IR and questionable status for Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers leave the future of the position in flux.
