The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night, taking home victory with a 40-22 final score in Super Bowl LIX.
As the confetti fell on the field at New Orleans' Caesars Superdome, Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson joined NFL insider Dianna Russini for a postgame interview.
Johnson, 34, just finished his 12th NFL season as a member of the Eagles' organization. He dealt with a variety of injury issues throughout the year, sparking some rumors about a potential retirement decision at the end of the season.
immediately after the Eagles' Super Bowl win, Johnson announced that he has no plans to retire. He said he wants to return with the Eagles and go for back-to-back Super Bowl titles this coming NFL season.
"I'm not retiring," Johnson said. "Not retiring."

Johnson's postgame announcement echoes another statement he made earlier this week.
"I'm definitely not retiring after this game, win or lose," Johnson said. "I'm definitely playing next year. That's really how you take it — I guess when you get up in age — one year at a time. But physically, I feel a lot better than I have in the past probably couple years. I feel really good. For being this late in the year, it's usually not like that. I'm thankful. We've got a good team here to help us with all that."
Johnson was an integral piece of the Eagles' offensive line that dominated its competition throughout the 2024 NFL regular season. Behind Johnson and the O-line, running back Saquon Barkley eclipsed 2,000 rushing yards — falling just short of the longstanding all-time record held by NFL legend Eric Dickerson.
Johnson logged his sixth career Pro-Bowl selection this past season, starting 15 games for the Eagles. The two-time First Team All-Pro tackle is widely considered one of the best offensive linemen in the game.
With Johnson returning to block for Jalen Hurts and Barkley again in 2025, the Eagles should be one of the early favorites to contend for another Super Bowl title this coming season.
