Larry Fitzgerald says he has 'no timeline' on retirement decision

Larry Fitzgerald has had one of the most prolific careers in NFL history, and after 17 seasons, it's hard not to wonder if the longtime Cardinals receiver is ready to hang up his cleats and enjoy his well-earned retirement. But when asked about his future, the veteran receiver admitted that he has not put a lot of thought into whether or not he wants to play another season or call it a career.

"No timeline," Fitzgerald told reporters at the Waste Management Phoenix Pro-Am. "I'm just taking it day by day. Honestly, I haven't given it much thought."

If Fitzgerald decides to play another season, it would almost certainly be in Arizona, as the receiver has spent his entire career with the Cardinals and has made it abundantly clear he is not interested in finishing out his career anywhere else.

"If I'm not playing in Arizona, I won't be playing anywhere," Fitzgerald said.

The 37-year-old would need to reach a new deal with the Cardinals, as he signed a one-year, $11.5 million deal to play last season. With the addition of DeAndre Hopkins last offseason, Fitzgerald saw his role in the Cardinals' offense reduced greatly last season, as he brought in 54 receptions for 409 yards and a touchdown, all career-lows.

Regardless of whether or not Fitzgerald decides to play another season, he has already easily earned himself a spot in the Hall of Fame. The 11-time Pro Bowler currently ranks second all-time in career receiving yards (17,492) and career receptions (1,432).
