The Las Vegas Raiders have all-new leadership ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. Head Coach Pete Carroll brings his starting Quarterback Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks to a talented Raiders roster. Las Vegas also brings in a new General Manager, John Spytek from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization. The 2025 NFL Draft will give us our first look at the Carroll-Spytek regime in action in Las Vegas. Here is our 2025 NFL Drat Preview for the Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders have 9 draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Las Vegas Raiders drafted Tight End Brock Bowers in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. He was unstoppable, becoming the first rookie tight end with 100+ receptions and over 1,000 yards. Center Jackson Powers-Johnson out of Oregon was another rookie standout for Las Vegas. The Raiders’ new general manager will look to build on that draft class this year, and he has plenty of assets to do it.
On Offense, the Las Vegas Raiders roster already features two talented pass catchers in Bowers and Wide Receiver Jakobi Myers. A No. 3 option should invested in during the NFL Draft. Running back is the skill position that needs the most help, and Boise State Running Back Ashton Jeanty has been connected to the team in the pre-draft process. Carroll’s new offense could use some depth in the trenches as well.
The defensive roster saw some talented players leave in free agency this offseason. Cornerback needs to be addressed with Nate Hobbs leaving for Green Bay and Jack Jones being released. The Raiders signed Devin White recently to play linebacker, but he is nothing more than a veteran stopgap. Carroll’s teams in Seattle always featured talented defensive players at all three levels. Las Vegas features top 5 pass rusher Maxx Crosby on the defensive line.
Using a top 6 NFL Draft pick on a running back is a controversial idea in roster construction. Seattle never drafted a running back in the first round during Carroll’s tenure, and Tampa Bay did not either when Spytek was with the organization. Given the depth at the running back position in the draft this year, I think the Raiders wait until the second round to draft a running back. Las Vegas can choose between Henderson or his backfield mate at Ohio State, Quinshon Judkins.
Walker is a hybrid edge rusher/linebacker who would thrive in Carroll’s defenses. If the Raiders go with Jeanty in the first, Alabama Linebacker Jihaad Campbell would be a great move in the second round. Noel is a smaller, fast slot receiver that would complement Bowers and Myers well. Riley is a sixth-year senior who potentially could replace Hobbs in the slot.
The Las Vegas Raiders are in an interesting position at sixth overall in the first round. If a team ahead of them takes Quarterback Shadeur Sanders, a top 5 prospect could fall to them. They are also in a great spot to trade back, whether they go running back or linebacker first. The AFC West is loaded, but if Carroll and Spytek can allocate their assets cleverly, the Raiders should compete for a wild-card spot in the AFC.
