The Las Vegas Raiders have so many position battles coming up in training camp this week, and all of them are going to be something to watch for.
With a roster like this one, one that has so many competitive positions with great depth all around it, there will be battles that are must-watch. Yes, the quarterback problem is solved with Geno Smith, the former Seattle Seahawks quarterback that the Raiders traded for. The backup QB spot is pretty much secured with Aidan O'Connell. But behind him, there is a battle, or was, I should say, for the third QB spot, and a chance at making the 53-man roster.
It was between Carter Bradley and Cam Miller. The Raiders just drafted Cam Miller in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, who is a National Champion from North Dakota State. They love what they see from the kid, but Bradley has been on the team for the last few years.

Bradley spent 2024 on the practice squad for the Raiders, showing potential in preseason with 17-of-34 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown. He was briefly elevated to the active roster in December 2024 but didn’t play in regular-season games. Despite his father, Gus Bradley, being a former Raiders defensive coordinator, Carter couldn’t secure a roster spot. On Monday, he was waived by the Raiders.
Now the question is, does this mean that the Raiders have already decided that battle is over? Have they already crowned Miller the winner of the QB3 position before the battle has even begun? It sure seems like it, but you truly never know what's around the corner in this crazy league.
And, this doesn't rule out the Raiders ever bringing Bradley back as a potential practice squad quarterback, and it surely doesn't mean that Miller is a 53-man roster QB. But, it does mean something, what it means is something we will have to wait to find out.
