Las Vegas Raiders Fall Short To Carolina Panthers In 36-22 Shocking Loss

In a surprising turn of events, the Las Vegas Raiders suffered a disappointing 36-22 defeat against the Carolina Panthers at home. This loss comes as a shock to many, especially after the Raiders’ impressive win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2.

The Raiders struggled from the start, managing only seven points through the first three quarters. Meanwhile, the Panthers, led by quarterback Andy Dalton, built a commanding 26-point lead by the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Head coach Antonio Pierce did not hold back in his post-game comments, criticizing his team’s effort and execution. “We got our ass whooped,” Pierce stated bluntly.

He highlighted the team’s failure to run the ball effectively, with the Raiders accumulating just 55 yards on 16 carries. Pierce also mentioned that some players made “business decisions” during the game, implying a lack of commitment and effort.

Raiders QB Gardner Minshew completed 18 of 28 passes for 214 yards with a touchdown and interception. The Las Vegas running game, which entered the game last in the league with a 49-yard average, totaled just 55 yards.

Raiders’ defense had no answers for Dalton or Hubbard. It didn’t help that Maxx Crosby didn’t play every defensive snap for the first time this season after hurting his ankle against the Ravens.

This loss drops the Raiders to a 1-2 record for the season. The team will need to regroup and address the issues highlighted by Pierce if they hope to turn their season around.

As defensive end Maxx Crosby put it, “We’ve got a lot of people that have to look in the mirror. Everybody’s got to continue getting better.

Raiders next game: Host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
