When you have the history that the Las Vegas Raiders have, or the Oakland Raiders, or even the Los Angeles Raiders, you deserve to have a documentary, or movie, or some type of show.
And, the Raiders have one, done by ESPN, where they focused on Al Davis using deep fake technology. It's pretty good. However, it's the only thing really out there, and it's just about the things that led to Davis wanting the Raiders in Vegas, and moving them from Oakland to Los Angeles back to Oakland.
There is so much more history there that needs to be cracked. There are so many coaches, players, personalities that need to be talked about and focused on. In fact, how there is not a movie about John Madden and Al Davis yet blows my mind. But, there will be one soon.
Amazon MGM Studios just started production, filming, and everything else on the movie 'Madden,' which is set to be about the man everyone loved. David O. Russell directs the film, who is known for movies like Anchorman, American Hustle, and Three Kings. The film is also set to feature John Mulaney as Trip Hawkins, the Electronic Arts founder behind the iconic Madden video game, alongside Kathryn Hahn as Virginia Madden and Sienna Miller as Carol Davis.
But most importantly, what fans have seen and will probably connect with is the images of the two actors who are in the bigger roles of this film. Nicolas Cage is playing John Madden, and Christian Bale is playing Al Davis.
The images of the two actors and how they are set to look, depicting the two characters they are playing, are spectacular. They look exactly like the two would have looked back in the day. And, it just gives a promise that the film will be good.
Raiders fans have been waiting for something like this for some time. Now it's coming. And, who knows, maybe the film will show all the times the Raiders beat down the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Los Angeles Chargers.
