The Las Vegas Raiders put together one of the worst regimes we have seen in some time a few years ago. They hired former New England Patriots coach Josh McDaniels as head coach, and former Patriots front office member Dave Ziegler as general manager. Obviously, it didn't work out.
The way it ended was a bit messy. The Raiders became a worse team than they were before those two came on board. And, the roster was filled with guys who didn't fit the Raiders' culture. So, a hard reset was much needed.
It was so bad that some thought that the two would be out of the league for a bit while things cooled down. But, those people would be wrong, as Ziegler is already back in an NFL front office.
Now, he isn't a general manager again, and if he ever does gain that title back it may take a while, but he is in a front office nonetheless.
FYI: Former @Raiders GM Dave Ziegler is back in the NFL, full time, as a Personnel Advisor with the @Saints.

Would not be surprised if he ends up back in an NFL GM chair at some point
According to Vinny Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the former GM is now in the NFL full time as a Personnel Advisor with the New Orleans Saints.
That is kind of ironic, though, as he is now in the same building as Derek Carr, the quarterback he shipped off. So, maybe that's a bit awkward.
