Las Vegas Raiders Rumors: Maxx Crosby Gets Raised on Reworked Deal
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Las Vegas Raiders rumors have been relatively quiet heading into the team’s OTAs. But, the most recent one involves star defensive end Maxx Crosby and will make him a very happy man in 2024.

According to Adam Schefter, via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN, Maxx Crosby is having his contract reworked by the Raiders. On Thursday afternoon they gave him a $6 million raise for the 2024 season without adding any years to the contract.

In addition to the raise this year, Maxx Crosby is having $1.2 million of his salary for 2026 moved up to 2025. A fourth-round pick out of Eastern Michigan in the 2019 NFL Draft, he signed a four-year, $95 million extension in 2022 with the franchise.

That deal carried more than $53 million in guaranteed money and has now been amended slightly. The raise was warranted as Maxx Crosby has played at a very high level since signing that deal.

In two seasons he has racked up 27 sacks and finished in the top six of the Defensive Player of the Year voting. With a career-high 14.5 sacks during the 2023 season, Maxx Crosby earned a spot on the All-Pro Second Team as well.

“I don’t know whether my rookie year seems like 20 years ago or two days ago,” Crosby said at the start of Las Vegas’ offseason workout program in April. “Like, it’s crazy to me.

“But yeah, it’s been a blessing. I mean, it’s been a damn journey, and for me, all that matters at the end of the day is winning, winning for this organization. I pour my heart and soul into this, and I want to be the best leader and teammate I can be on a daily basis, and being a Raider is something that’s special to me. I’ve got real relationships from the owner all the way down to the janitor. I’m here every day for a reason. It’s like a family. There’s not many teams that operate like we do, and we’ve just got to translate that to winning, and it’s just exciting to get things rolling again.”

Not only has Maxx Crosby been productive on the field, but he has been an important presence during the offseason. According to Raiders rumors, he is always at the team facility, something that isn’t always the case for veterans.

A leader on and off the field, Crosby has become the face of the Raiders. Raiders rumors swirled about him being a major reason Antonio Pierce was retained as head coach and he is looking to lead by example, just as Pierce has wanted.
