The matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders is expected to be interesting, as the storylines for both teams have NFL fans scratching their heads. Many Colts followers condemned them to a horrible season after not starting quarterback Anthony Richardson, only to find that Daniel Jones still had plenty of juice left. On the other side, Raiders fans are still waiting for players like Brock Bowers to have strong performances. Could this be the week that he finally breaks out?

The Raiders’ defense is looking very exploitable after giving up 41 points to Washington just a few weeks ago. That opens up an opportunity to play Daniel Jones, who would be much cheaper than a Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts. Jones has a season low of 228 yards and has thrown a touchdown in every game he’s played. This is a matchup where he should be airing it out quite often, making him a must-start.

Competitive tight ends are hard to come by at this time of year, but Tyler Warren might just fit the bill. The Colts have been using him in creative ways to the point where he ran in a touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams. Warren has also gotten at least five targets in each game this season. He is slowly becoming one of Jones’ more favorable targets, making him a strong start for this week.

When it comes to Raiders receivers, everyone is talking about Tre Tucker and the huge three-touchdown game he had against Washington. That might lead fans to look away from the fact that Meyers still gets the most targets on this team. The Raiders defense will be giving up points early, which means they’ll have to throw the ball to keep up. Don’t be surprised if Meyers has the big receiving day and Tucker does not.

After a three-touchdown game, it’s really weird to be recommending not starting Ashton Jeanty. The game script for Las Vegas against the Colts will be much different than the Bears, however. The Raiders will likely be keeping the ball in the air for most of the game, and, although he is emerging as a nice receiver, Jeanty won’t get the work on the ground that he got last week. That being said, if Jeanty still ends up with a strong game, he will be a must-start for the rest of the season.

It’s a real tragedy that players have been paying so much for Brock Bowers. The former best tight end in the league has gotten below 50 yards in the last three games straight and has yet to find the endzone. There has to be some point down the line where Bowers turns it around, but until he can prove that, he isn’t worth a start. It’s likely that Meyers and Tucker will get all the targets from Geno Smith in this game.

Going into the season, plenty of experts have been big on Joshua Downs. With four games already played, though, it’s clear that he is not a big part of this offense. Jones has been getting the ball to other targets like Michal Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, and the emerging Tyler Warren. That doesn’t leave much room for Downs, who has a season high of 51 yards. It’s smarter to invest in any other part of the Colts offense.
