The 2026 NFL Draft is just over a month away, and the Washington Commanders are narrowing down their options for the final big board.
Leading up to the draft, the Commanders have been traveling to All-Star games, college pro days, and hosting top-30 visits for top prospects on their list. We've already heard of multiple prospects who are coming to Ashburn for a top-30 visit, and they added another top player who could be their selection with the No. 7 overall pick.
The Commanders revamped their roster during an active free agency, but there are still plenty of roster upgrades the team can address in the NFL Draft. One of the positions to watch is CB, even after adding Amik Robertson in free agency.
The top CB to watch is Mansoor Delane, and he could very well be their selection with the No. 7 overall pick after scheduling a top-30 visit with him.

One of the premier defenders in the class.
Robertson will likely be the Commanders' nickel CB, but there are still concerns on the outside after Mike Sainristil struggled heavily last season. Delane could easily take over as CB1 and become a lockdown option to complement Trey Amos, who had a standout rookie season before suffering a fractured fibula.
The Commanders will have plenty of options with the No. 7 overall pick, but Delane could easily be the most intriguing option to take the defensive repairs over the top this offseason.
Having a lockdown corner is a premier position in the NFL, and it's something the Commanders haven't had in a long time. The Marshon Lattimore trade was a disaster, and now Delane could replace him as the long-term answer. Delane is a 6-0, 190-pound CB who just turned 22 years old, and ascended into his prime this past season at LSU.
Delane was elite in coverage and allowed just 13 catches for 165 yards without a single touchdown, and a passer rating of just 31.1 in 2025. He plays well in zone, but he excels in press-man coverage, where he can lock down any team's WR1.

Taking a WR with the no. 7 overall pick will be tempting, but the Commanders will heavily think about drafting Delane with other opportunities of addressing the offense. The Commanders fixed every position on the defense except the outside corner, and it's the most important position that has been a struggle for too long.
Delane could easily become the next great CB in the NFL behind guys like Derek Stingley Jr. and Patrick Surtain II.
