Shortly after the completion of the 2025 NFL Draft, The Athletic labeled former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt one of the offseason's big winners.
That's because the New York Giants, the team that selected Hyatt in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, didn't add any notable receivers to the roster via the draft or free agency.
The offseason, however, isn't over yet. And some recent NFL rumblings suggest that New York could add a somewhat notable name at wide receiver after all.
Earlier this month, the Jacksonville Jaguars released wide receiver Gabe Davis. And according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, the Giants could be interested in signing Davis.
Davis spent the first four seasons of his career with the Buffalo Bills. Giants head coach Brian Daboll was Davis' offensive coordinator for the wide receiver's first two years in Buffalo, so the connection makes sense.
Schedule release tonight. Get ready for an early taste of the NFC East for the Giants.

Also keep an eye on WR Gabe Davis today. Momentum building for a reunion with Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen in NY.
Davis was reportedly set to visit with the Giants on Wednesday.
WR Gabe Davis is scheduled to visit with the Giants on Wednesday, source confirms. Obvious familiarity with Joe Schoen + Brian Daboll from Buffalo.

Davis is only 26 but struggled in his only season in Jacksonville last year. Had 20 catches for 239 yards and 2 TDs in 10 games.
Considering Daboll’s connection with Davis, it’s fair to assume that Hyatt will take a tumble down the Giants’ depth chart if New York ends up signing the former UCF standout.
Hyatt hasn’t really received opportunities to shine with the Giants. It feels like the writing is on the wall if Davis ends up landing in New York.
But maybe that will be a good thing for Hyatt. At this point, the best thing for Hyatt’s NFL career might be a fresh start elsewhere.
