Latest NFL schedule news confirms that the Kansas City Chiefs are the NFL's bell-cow for viewership

To nobody's surprise, the Chiefs will play in several primetime in 2025.

The latest schedule news has revealed that Kansas City has three primetime matchups in a four week span early in the season. Here they are:

• Week 3: at New York Giants
• Week 5: at Jacksonville Jaguars
• Week 6: vs. Detroit Lions

We also already know that the Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos in the primetime slot of Christmas Day, and it is heavily rumored that they will kick off the season in São Paulo, Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers.

That's makes for a total of five primetime games so far, and there's still 11 (Chiefs are confirmed a 3:30 CT start on Thanksgiving against the Dallas Cowboys) dates and times yet to be announced. Let's take a quick preview of the three primetime games in the four week stretch from up above.

Chiefs at Giants

Whoever the Chiefs end up giving the starting jobs at left tackle and left guard to will face a big test in this game. New York boasts an intimidating defensive line that features Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and 2025 first-round pick Abdul Carter. 

Although he's past his prime, Russell Wilson will provide some stability at quarterback for the Giants and be an upgrade over what they had last season. The Chiefs will be rightfully favored in this game, but New York should be improved on both sides of the ball and will have home field advantage, so K.C. will need to be sharp.

Chiefs at Jaguars

This will be a similar situation to the Giants game. Jacksonville will be the home team in this matchup and made some big-time upgrades throughout its roster during the offseason. Chiefs fans will get a close look at 2025 No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter, who is one of the most highly anticipated rookies in NFL history.

Again, this is a game that K.C. should win, but it won't be a walk in the park. The Chiefs currently have an eight-game winning streak over Jacksonville, which dates back to the 2010 season.

Chiefs vs. Lions

This could be one of the best games of the entire 2025 season, and a potential Super Bowl preview. The Lions have had one of the most explosive offenses in the league over the past few years, and K.C.'s offense always has the ability to go off. 

The Chiefs will be out for a little revenge in this game as Detroit knocked them off in 2023's season opener. K.C. went on to win another championship that season, but that win for the Lions put them on the map as a legitimate contender.
