With training camp still a few days away for the Chicago Bears, individual players are still spending personal time to relax, recover, and train on their own before returning to the facilities as a team.
Some players during the offseason opt to workout alone during this period of the summer, some decide to attend league-wide events such as TE University or the Sack Summit, and sometimes the best way to get in extra work is to meet up with teammates.
Usually we see this more from offensive skill players and quarterbacks getting together to work through plays and build the connection with each other. But, defensive players can link up and train together as well.
This week, three members of the Bears' young secondary in Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, and Jaquan Brisker decided to meet up and work out together. These three have been the heart of this entire defense going back to 2022.

As young players, the Bears' secondary trio have continued to grow alongside each other and their individuals play styles really complement each other. It's great to see all three of them putting in work together.
However, all three players have dealt with various injuries over the last three years, and seeing them working out together ahead of the 2025 season brought forth an interesting question on social media that I wanted to explore more.
How many games have these three played together in their career?

The answer might be more than you'd think. Since the Bears drafted Gordon and Brisker in the second-round of the 2022 NFL Draft to pair with Johnson in the secondary, the three players have played 24 total games together, including games where a player might have exited early due to injury.
That means, per year, this trio has only averaged only eight games playing together. So, while it seems higher than expected, you'd like to see more out of these three.
The player who's missed the most time since 2022 is Brisker, who's missed 16 games due to three different concussions. Having Brisker healthy and on the field in 2025 alongside Johnson and Gordon will be huge for this unit.
"Just stay healthy," Brisker said. "I don’t have to prove anything. When I’m out there, I make plays. I go attack the ball and I come down and hit. I come down and tackle, and I’m a leader. So really just have to be out there."
Under new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, this defense will be at it's best when guys like Johnson, Gordon, and Brisker are on the field. Hopefully 2025 is the first season we can see how great this secondary trio can be for a full 17 game season.
