The Los Angeles Rams will once again be shorthanded as they head into Sunday’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field (10 a.m. PT, FOX). The team officially ruled out offensive lineman Steve Avila and rookie tight end Terrance Ferguson, two notable names on the inactive list.
Avila, who was listed as doubtful heading into the weekend, will miss his second straight game due to the ankle injury suffered in Week 1 against the Houston Texans. Ferguson’s absence is a bit more surprising, though the return of Colby Parkinson factored heavily into the decision.

Hampton was a late scratch, downgraded from questionable to out on Saturday after being added to the injury report with an illness. Bennett remains the team’s emergency third quarterback, while Avila’s absence had been expected after missing practice all week.
With Ferguson inactive, the Rams will rely more heavily on veterans Tyler Higbee and Davis Allen, with Parkinson stepping back into the rotation.
Despite being a second-round pick and the Rams’ first selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, Ferguson has been used sparingly to start the season. Sean McVay acknowledged both the progress Ferguson has made and the long-term vision for his role.
“We’ll see. I thought it was a hell of a play that he made on the blocked extra point to be able to go track that thing down,” McVay said earlier this week. “He’s done a really good job. I think it’s a case-by-case thing… The ball didn’t necessarily find him, but he did a good job. I think it’ll only be an incremental build.”
McVay added praise for Higbee and Allen, while emphasizing that Ferguson will continue to grow into a larger role:
“With what Terence had, I think he’s only going to be a guy that’s going to continue to improve and we want to continue to find ways to get him involved. What does that look like? It’s hard for me to say until we really get a game plan together this week.”
There is good news for Los Angeles. Defensive lineman Braden Fiske, who was questionable after tweaking his oblique during pre-game warmups last week, is active. He played limited snaps against the Titans but is expected to have a fuller role against Philadelphia. Parkinson is also active, reinforcing the tight end depth chart despite Ferguson’s scratch.
The Eagles, meanwhile, have fewer surprises. Quarterback Tanner McKee (thumb) is inactive, joined by:
Notably, Jalen Carter and Dallas Goedert—both removed from the injury report on Friday—are active and will play.
With Avila sidelined, the Rams continue to shuffle their depth up front. Warren McClendon Jr. and David Quessenberry will be the primary backup tackles, while interior linemen Justin Dedich and Beaux Limmer are both active for the first time this season.
