Laura Rutledge Gets Congratulations After Big News

After the 2026 Sports Emmy Awards named "NFL Live" the Outstanding Sports Studio Show — Daily, fans sent congratulatory messages to Laura Rutledge on Instagram.

She shared a heartfelt message for her co-hosts, expressing gratitude for the successful years they spent together and reflecting on their journey since the show relaunched in 2020.

"This team," wrote the veteran broadcaster. "We came together in 2020 when lots of uncertainty surrounded every day for everyone. As challenges popped up, we powered through them together. We leaned on each other and built more than just a tv show. We built a family.

"Tight knit as they come, champions of each other, respect when opinions differ, a willingness to listen, a constant hunger for improvement…these are just some of the qualities that define us. It’s an honor I’ll cherish forever to be able to work with our group. Both on and off camera they are the best of what humanity has to offer."

Fans quickly commended Rutledge after the big news.

On Tuesday, the reporter and host announced that she will leave "SEC Nation" but will continue to work for ESPN. She spent the last 10 years helping build it into one of college football's premier pregame shows.

Rutledge will remain the host of "NFL Live" and serve as a sideline reporter for "Monday Night Football."

Longtime ESPN sportscaster Matt Barrie will replace her. However, the move signals that ESPN fully trusts Rutledge to cover the NFL at the highest level. The network should announce her full scope of work and potential new roles soon.
