When it comes to Toafili, there’s clearly something the Jets like about his game. He was invited to the team’s rookie minicamp as a tryout player before being let go and brought back a few weeks ago. He impressed in preseason action and now returns to the practice squad.
A very good pass catcher out of the backfield, Toafili, on the active roster or not, gives the Jets yet another multi-dimensional back.
Williams, a former fourth-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 2020, has played in 74 career games (25 starts) and amassed 241 tackles as a pro.
