The Jacksonville Jaguars are still early in their search for a new head coach, but one name appears likely to figure prominently in their search process.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen interviewed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday as they search for a new head coach. According to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, Coen is a “top name to watch” in the Jaguars’ search, though it remains in its early stages.

Coen just wrapped up his first season as the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator. On his watch, the Bucs were third in the NFL with 399.5 yards per game and fourth with 29.5 points per game. Quarterback Baker Mayfield had his best statistical season with 4,500 passing yards and 41 touchdowns, and the Jaguars might be hoping Coen could do something similar with Trevor Lawrence.

The Jaguars’ job is intriguing to one of the more coveted head coaching candidates of the cycle as well. However, there appears to be growing momentum toward him going elsewhere, which could leave Coen well-positioned for the Jacksonville job.
